Regional Heritage Tourism

During the Spring 2017 semester, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Architecture partnered with the Willa Cather Foundation, UNL-Extension, the Center for Rural Entrepreneurship, the Red Cloud Community Foundation Fund, the City of Red Cloud, the Red Cloud Chamber of Commerce, and Webster County to develop a strategic plan to bring more economic value and interest to the areas between I-70 and I-80 in North Central Kansas and South Central Nebraska.

The National Heritage Area Initiative for North Central Kansas and South Central Nebraska will begin to collectively bring Cultural Heritage Tourism Assets into an alliance of organizations. This alliance will be able to discuss the future of Cultural Heritage Tourism in a manner that equally benefits all stakeholders, communities, and visitors.
