A. G. House

A. G. House

Located a short walking distance from downtown, this quaint dwelling was built in 1883 on land originally owned by T. B. Williams, Red Cloud's first physician and Webster County's first divorcee. Boasting original woodwork and plastered walls, this charming home has all modern amenities, and spacious living areas that include two bedrooms, a large living area, and a new spacious kitchen and bath. Take advantage of the southern sun porch or the cottage's front porch, to enjoy your morning cup of coffee, the evening's conversations, or just a quiet get-a-way. According to the 1885 Nebraska Agricultural Census, the home was then owned and occupied by Joseph and Sophia Loder Graves, seven of their fifteen children, and a domestic servant. Needless to say, the older boys most likely slept in the barn's haymow. A barn quilt square, commemorating this property is planned for the west barn door. The quilt on the east is in celebration of the life of H. R. Mullen. He owned and resided here prior to his death, and the family has retained possession of this property for over 50 years. It is currently owned by a daughter, whose hard work and TLC have made it into this quaint abode, that awaits your enjoyment.
