COVID-19 Resources

The South Heartland District Health Department area (Webster, Nuckolls, Clay, and Adams Counties in Nebraska) has reported at least 302 positive cases of COVID-19, including at least 5 in Webster County. All reported Webster County cases have recovered. 11 deaths have also been reported in the district. Webster County is under a directed health measure through at least June 30th. Significant changes to the DHM occurred on June 1st. See the Facebook post above for more details. As of 6pm on Monday, June 1st Nebraska has reported at least 14,345 cases and 178 deaths. Kansas has reported 10,038 cases and 218 deaths. Many of those cases have recovered. Travelers to Red Cloud are asked to observe safety precautions and be aware that while the county has few cases, more populated areas that you might pass through to get here (like Omaha) are seeing an uptick in cases . Additionally, most events that would typically attract 100+ people have been or soon will be cancelled, pending a dramatic and swift conclusion to the pandemic in the United States. We will update this every few days, but the links below contain the most up-to-date information. The case counts listed above are provisional and may not reflect the most current data.

As our community, state, and nation continue to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic we will do our best to provide an updated list of resources for the Red Cloud and Guide Rock communities. For the most up-to-date information, however, it is recommended that you follow Governor Pete Ricketts on Facebook or via his website's newsfeed or go the Nebraska Department of Economic Development's COVID-19 response page and the Nebraska State Legislature. For health related updates, please refer to the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and the South Heartland District Health Department. For the federal response, please refer to the White House, Center for Disease Control, Congress, USDA, and Small Business Administration websites.

Any information you find on this page is subject to change and you should contact an official working in or with any of these agencies to confirm the most recent status.
