From the Hastings Tribune / Andy Raun:

The June 3 dedication of the new National Willa Cather Center here will feature a talk by one of the United States’ former first ladies.

Laura Bush, wife of former President George W. Bush, is scheduled to deliver remarks at the dedication ceremony planned for 1:30 p.m. at the center, which is the new name of the venerable Moon Block building adjacent to the Red Cloud Opera House in downtown Red Cloud.

“We are delighted to welcome Laura W. Bush as our esteemed guest speaker for the National Willa Cather Center’s grand opening,” says The Willa Cather Foundation, owner of the newly renovated building, in materials for the 62nd annual Willa Cather Spring Conference June 1-3.

The dedication ceremony and a subsequent reception will follow on the heels of the Spring Conference, which adjourns after lunch on June 3. Conference participants are invited to stay for the dedication, but a separate ticket will be required.
