We are excited to welcome Dr. Rebecca Faber to talk about her book, One Small Photo, a collection of poetry and one short story that was written to raise awareness about veterans' mental health. Dr. Faber will also share details about a new research project focused on her uncle, who was a prisoner of war in Germany during World War II. About the Author

Becky is the author of One Small Photo (2017). Her poems have been published in the anthologies How It looks from Here: Poetry from the Plains; Voices from the Plains, Volume III; Nebraska Presence (One Book One Nebraska 2018); Women Write Resistance; and Rural Voices: Literature from Rural Nebraska. She has also been published in The Midwest Quarterly (Special Issue—Three Generations of Nebraska Poets); Platte Valley Review; Small Brushes; Blue Collar Review; So to Speak; Plains Song Review; The Nebraska English Counselor; Lyrical Iowa; and Plainsongs. For over twenty-five years Becky has been an associate editor/manuscript reader for Plainsongs (Hastings, NE). She has also served as a poetry evaluator for the Nebraska Writer’s Guild and has presented at their yearly conference. She is a board member for the Nebraska Center for the Book as well as the Nebraska Literary Heritage Association. Becky is a Fellow for the Center for Great Plains Studies at The University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has had research/academic articles featured in Willa Cather Newsletter & Review; Violence, the Arts and Willa Cather; Teaching Cather; Heritage of the Great Plains; Willa Cather, A Reference Guide, 1984-1992; Great Plains Quarterly; Willa Cather’s University Days, 1890-1895; Willa Cather Pioneer Memorial Newsletter; and Nebraska English Journal. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English Education and a PhD in English. Her writing honors include: Third Place, Joe Pendleton Campbell Narrative, The Poetry Society of Virginia, 2008 Second Place.
