The grandson of country music royalty Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter, Whey Jennings was but a child when he took to the stage singing “Mamas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys” at one of his grandparents’ concerts. That very day, young Whey fell in love with music and stole the heart of his grandfather’s audience. He has been labelled a “rough around the edges, unpolished singer with a voice as big as Texas”. While forging his own unique musical identity, he also carries on the legacy of his Grammy Award-winning grandfather Waylon Jennings. The elder Jennings personified and energized the outlaw country music movement of the 1970s. Grandson Whey is “unapologetically rebellious and lawless in leather”.
