McDole receives 2 scholarships from the Red Cloud Community Fund
The Red Cloud Community Fund is proud to announce that Samantha McDole has received two scholarships from its John & Dorothy Sherwood nontraditional account. McDole, a math teacher at Red Cloud High School, received a $2,000 scholarship in May and another $1,280 scholarship in August. McDole is completing coursework at Chadron State College that will enable her to teach dual enrollment courses at the college level. Obtaining this certification will be a big win for Red Cloud students hoping to take college courses while they’re still in high school. Students who take such courses can knock out their general education courses and even complete an associate’s degree. Either way, it helps lower their college costs significantly.
The John & Dorothy Sherwood nontraditional scholarship account allows RCCF to help people living and working in the Red Cloud area to pursue the education they need to enhance their skillsets or obtain opportunities. By doing so, RCCF helps improve the earning power of community members and the quality of services available to everyone. If you’re interested in applying for a non-traditional scholarship, please contact RCCF Scholarship Committee Chair Alison Brodahl at alison.brodahl@valleychild.org or RCCF Chair Jarrod McCartney at jmccartney@redcloudnebraska.com. Nontraditional scholarships are available year-round and are open to everyone, though certain restrictions may apply.
