RED CLOUD —Have you ever wanted to know about the local history or what life was really like here 50 or 100 years ago?

Lifelong Red Cloud area resident Suzi Schulz is hoping to answer those questions and more for residents, guests and travelers through her new interactive tour program.

WalkRedCloud.com is a site she created, with the help of people in the tech world, as a way to educate people about the physical locations and their place in the Red Cloud community.

The idea is to share the stories her grandparents shared with her — and that she hopes to share with her grandchildren — about her community.

“I’ve always been a lover of history, a study of history,” Schulz said recently. “I started doing genealogy when I was young and moved back here after we graduated from college and continued to study history.”

Today, Schulz is sharing that history with others through the installation of 50 plaques throughout downtown Red Cloud that link to the website, sharing historical information about the community.
