Spring conference to explore Cather connections to theatre

Spring conference to explore Cather connections to theatre

May 8, 2019

RED CLOUD — Author Willa Cather’s relationship to the theater throughout and beyond her life will be a focus of exploration here May 30 through June 1 at the 64th annual Willa Cather Spring Conference.

Cather’s association with dramatic enterprises began in her school days as she took roles on stage, then extended through her work as a journalist and critic and her writing frequently of the theater in her fiction. The connection continues even in death as Cather’s life and work has become the subject of modern theatrical stagings.
