The Edible Schoolyard at TVCDC launches "Adopt-a-crop" program
Are you, your family, or your organization looking for a fun and interactive community service project?
The Edible Schoolyard at The Valley Child Development Center is launching a Spring 2026 “Adopt-A-Crop” initiative, running from mid-May through September. Community organizations, families, and businesses are invited to adopt or share responsibility for a crop and help care for it throughout the growing season.
Participants are encouraged to attend at least one weekly Garden Night (Wednesdays, 5–6 pm) to assist with planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting.
The program aims to foster community involvement while promoting benefits such as growing local produce, teamwork, outdoor activity, connections with children and staff, and shared learning about gardening. The garden is open to the public, and the committee welcomes participation and engagement from the community.
